State Library of Victoria
2022-23 Annual Report
The 2022-23 annual report for the State Library of Victoria; centred around the theme of "Community Spirit". The report features a range of circular and light visuals to back up the feeling of community that is so commonly found in Melbourne.
My visit to the State Library of Victoria was an interesting one. It's such an iconic landmark of Melbourne's city, but before then I hadn't stepped foot into it for years, with my expectations being that it would just be a big vintage library with a nice cafe in the corner.
I could not be further from the truth. The space was felt very modern and inviting, with a lot of students and workers all focused on their separate projects. The space felt light and calming despite the scale. Even still with all the modern equipment and interior design, you could still see and visit parts of the library that showed its original style and construction, which is still amazing to see in person.
I chose the theme of community spirit because even with the library being a popular landmark for tourists, its still widely used and loved to the people living in Melbourne.
A side note
During my visit there, I saw this impressive Lego structure of the State Library built by the Brickman. I felt that this structure was amazing to look at in person, and definitely captured the community spirit that is associated with the State Library.
